Make New Friends
With up to 30 students each session it’s easy to make new friends who share the same interest.
Training
Our junior sessions are a mixture of games between the students, puzzle based scenarios and lectures by the on duty coaches.
Practice
Some weeks we will run long play games that will give the students experience in playing standard games as well as an ECF chess rating.
League Games
Join one of our two junior teams (Jedis or Siths) in the Northumberland Chess Association league. You can also take part in summer competitions.
Weekly Junior Coaching Sessions
At Gosforth we run Newcastle’s largest and most interactive weekly junior sessions at a cost of only £2 per session.

Coaching Team
Our head coach is Mick who oversees most session, as well as Mick we have 6 coaches (each DBS checked) that may take a class.
Each session will have a minimum of two experienced coaches.
1st Junior Competition
/in Club news, Gosforth JuniorsOn 7th July 2024 we had our first junior competition, an amazing 42 Juniors attended and the final standings are below:
